We are a unique company offering small, intimate quilt retreats for quilters of all abilities. Quilt Retreat at Pieceful Cottage
Qualified quilt teacher, Betty Dietz who has been quilting and teaching for over 20 years, leads workshops designed for every quilter from beginner to advanced. Projects range from simple mystery quilts to the more complicated drafting and stitching of circular flying geese. The cottage has comfortable accommodations for six quilters, so gather a group of friends for a girl’s weekend away.
Do you own EQ? Get away from it all with an Electric Quilt Escape© at Pieceful Cottage in Wenona, MD. Plan a get-together to meet your on-line friends, or bring your bee and your laptops loaded with EQ5 or EQ6. Betty also offers private lessons for EQ6 and quilt design services.
DreamCastle Quilts now offers a variety of patterns for you to purchase. The first series Bits ‘n’ Strips, quilts made from 5″ squares and 2 1/2″ strips are available as well as the Winter Skies Wall Hanging. Each pattern is $8.00, tax and shipping included.
Pieceful Cottage, our vacation home on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, is available for rent all year round. Located in the small, secluded fishing village of Wenona, in Deal Island, MD, Pieceful Cottage sits just 100 yards back from the Chesapeake Bay. Nearby Deal Island Wildlife Refuge is a real birder’s paradise. You can hike the marked trails or paddle your canoe or kayak through the marshes. There is a free public boat ramp, located just behind the cottage, in picturesque Wenona Harbor, a real waterman’s harbor where historic Skipjacks still sail out for their daily catch of oysters. The fishing in Tangier Sound is well known, with anglers bringing in a large variety of fish, including Striped Bass (or Rockfish). Summer is crab season, when you can enjoy a day on the water, catching your own Maryland crabs, and bring them home for dinner.
Quilt groups are always welcome at Pieceful Cottage. We provide irons, ironing boards, a cutting board and table, fold-up work tables, chairs, electric cords and a workroom large enough for 6 quilters. The owner is a quilter and will help with information on local quilt shops.
